This year, I attended the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival with my parents and my son. First, we headed it to EPCOT right before our 2:00 appointment at the Festival Center for a wine seminar. Here is a photo of the introduction of the festival from the entrance of EPCOT. While it was cute, it surely does not compare with the Flower and Garden Show entrances which are bolder and more beautiful.
Here is the approach to the Food and Wine Festival Center:
Wine Seminar with a Kid
Once we arrived, we headed back to our seminar. We had previously booked this before coming on vacation, costing $14 for each of us.
In front of us, we each had the following presentation. In each glass was about 1 ounce of wine. The paperwork gave space to write any notes about each of the wines. In addition, there were a small amount of crackers in a bowl.
The seminar lasted about 45 minutes. The speaker was highly versed in Australian wines, gives great details on each of the wines, the area from which they were grown, prices of the wines and other such details.
Since we did go to the seminar with my son, he was required to sit in a kid’s section where coloring supplies were available. My son did appreciate the fun but only for about 15 minutes. At that point, he had completed his coloring and wanted to show me his hard work. The Cast Member quickly came to my side stating that my son MUST stay over in the kid’s section. While the seminar was extremely informative, I would have preferred to have purchased one glass and moved on to doing something else. I know my son would have also liked that better!
Food and Wine Festival around the World Showcase
Around the back of the World Showcase, I tried many different foods. My son had his new LEGO Star Wars book with him so he was excited for the extra table time where he could spread out his book and see all of the pictures. In year’s past, I have not tried many of the offerings from the Food and Wine Festival. However, this year with my parents, I had them there to split the food with. It made the experience much more fun! At the end of the festival experience, I was very glad to get to go, especially with my parents!
