What Souviner Can You Afford to Buy 10 of On Your Disney Vacation?

When vacationing to Disney, often times, getting a souvenir is an important part of the adventure!  Children especially love to get something that commemorates the fun and experiences they.  However, if you are traveling to Disney on budget, you may find that the merchandise sold is far more expensive than what you were hoping to spend per child.

So, what can your child get as a souvenir that will not bust the budget?   How about pressed pennies?  Why would any child like to collect such an item?  Well, the items are easy to carry, easy to collect and the machines for making pressed pennies are all over the theme parks and Resorts!

In this photo, you can see that there are 4 different penny presses to choose from to include Tinkerbell and Jiminy Cricket.  The cost of the penny press is $.51.  The $.50 is the cost of the souvenir, the .01 is your penny that you will take home with you.  This particular penny machine was found outside of the Honey I Shrunk the Kids attraction in Hollywood Studios.  Each of the machines offers different commemorative information and characters.  This affords children the possibility to collect one pressed penny to commemorate particular attractions experienced or characters met along their vacation at Disney.  Even if 10 different souvenirs are purchased, your expense would only run $5.10!

The fun of these souvenirs too is that you can virtually take them where you like.  I personally keep a few of my favorites in my wallet.  When paying for an item, as I reach for change, I see them mixed in with my change.  the sign of them makes me smile and remember a portion of my vacation.

If you or your child become big into collecting the pressed pennies, you can also purchase a pressed penny book for safely storing the items.  Fun to collect and inexpensive.  Purchase one for yourself on your next vacation.  You will see that they really are quite nice to have with you on days when you are not at the parks!

If you are traveling with small children, have them get a mask at Epcot and go through the countries to get it “stamped”…it’s completely free!

If you go to guest services, they will give you a guide to where pressed penny machines are & who is on each penny. Saves time if you are looking for a specific character.
