The UK Pavillion – EPCOT

Name of attraction:

United Kingdom Pavillion

Opening date:

1982

Description:

The UK Pavillion is part of the World Showcase in EPCOT. It is situated between France and Canada. In the space of just a few hundred feet, you can see, amongst many other sights, an elegant London square, a thatched roof cottage and a traditional pub.  There is no major attraction within this country but there are plenty of shops to explore, all with authentic English architecture. There is also plenty of entertainment including a group called The British Invasion, who play various Beatles songs amongst others.  The pub, The Rose and Crown, serves traditional British food such as fish and chips, and plenty of beer and ales.

Length of attraction:

N/A

Opinion or personal story about the attraction:

While I love EPCOT and especially World Showcase, because we are from England we have never spent much time in this particular Pavillion. My personal favourite thing about the UK (so far, until we explore it more) is The Tea Caddy shop. I love the wooden beams and fireplace and often have a chat with the staff in here about ‘back home’. It also stocks lovely tea and teapots, and all sorts of accessories. The nicest thing I’ve brought back from here is a Mickey head shaped tea infuser. I just love it. It also stocks English chocolate if I get desperate for some Cadbury.

One thing I’m really excited to try next time is the Kim Possible game, although there have been rumours that this may be being fazed out. If it is still there for our next trip, it’ll be a must do.
