The Old and New Versions of Soarin’ Now Open – See it Here First

Nearly every guest who has experienced the Soarin’ attraction in Epcot’s Land Pavilion has loved it.  The attraction originally opened on May 5, 2005 and has been thrilling those who ride it with various scenes from all over California.  The attraction is very popular, with lines with typically wait times of at least 60 minutes.  Disney, wanting to better accommodate their guests, closed the attraction on January 4, 2016 for refurbishment and opened a third movie theater in hopes the wait times would reduce.

Now the attraction has reopened here are the new features:

  1. The original two theaters branch off left and right, as before.  Now a third theater has been added straight back as you approach the two original theaters.
  2. The theater screens have been upgraded to a 180-degree, 80-foot IMAX projection system.
  3. A new film has been introduced that shows footage from popular and spectacular locations from all of the world.
