Details of Dragon Challenge

If you are not familiar with this attraction, it is a two-sided, intertwined, inverted coaster that was one of the original opening day attractions for Islands of Adventure back in 1999.  This was one of the most favored attraction in the park for many years and was re-themed in 2010 to Dragon Challenge to help it fit in with the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Other than the name change, the experience of the attraction was nearly unchanged until 2011.  In that year, the theme park had several accidents that caused Universal to stop the dual launching of the two-sided attraction.

What is to come?

Universal has not stated the exact details of what will replace the Dragon Challenge.  What they have stated is that it will be a roller coaster thrill attraction.  The company has stated that the attraction will be indoors and feature dark ride elements similar to the Gringotts attraction of Universal Studios.  Many speculate that the attraction will be themed after the new movie, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.  If you have not seen that movie, you are certainly missing out!
