If you were brave enough to man the crowds in the Magic Kingdom for the Fourth of July celebration, you were certainly in for a fireworks treat!
The show began on the Fourth of July at 9:00 PM, following the Main Street Electrical Parade. According to Disney, the show was a:
“Salute America with a dazzling display of fireworks and special effects set to inspiring music. Exploding with color, light and sound, this thrilling show is a captivating patriotic extravaganza. Blazing fireworks and fantastic effects ignite the sky over Cinderella Castle, while a magnificent musical score surrounds you with joyous and uplifting songs.
This lively tribute to America’s independence is one of the most elaborate nighttime spectacles ever seen at a Disney theme park, and it will fill you with pride as it awakens your imagination.”
How it differed from Wishes Spectacular:
Visiting the Magic Kingdom on a holiday that includes fireworks specifically dedicated to the occasion is an event. If you plan on going, you need to know that the crowds will be extreme, patients must be used and expect to be herded around like cattle! The numbers of guests in the parks often causes the park to hit capacity, meaning that they will no longer allow guests to enter the park.
If you plan to get the best viewing spot for the fireworks, you will need to arrive in that spot hours head of time. Also, be aware that even though you think you might have the perfect spot for viewing, know that right as the show is about to begin you will have other Disney guests who will bump right in front of you. Be prepared to stake out your “spot” to view the show that will minimize the ability of others to take over your real estate! Good luck and enjoy the incredible show!
