When planning your visit to EPCOT, you really should consider where you would like to be standing when the Illuminations show takes place. There are many locations to view the Illuminations show, however, some have better viewing spots, while others offer a seat! During my last visit to EPCOT, my family decided to book a reservation at the Japan Pavilion’s Tokyo Dining restaurant. We booked our reservation at 8:15 PM with the Illuminations beginning at 9:00 PM. We had just finished dining when the show began.
What you can expect is several other Disney guests on the top of the restaurant also waiting to see the fireworks if you go outside the restaurant. If viewing from inside the restaurant, you will be able to see the fireworks but without the best view because of those who are outside the restaurant and likely located in front of your view. I found several people on the top of the restaurant using tripods for their large cameras. These people had been standing there for some time and had taken stake of the best possible spot on the top of the restaurant.
Here is a shot of the area before the fireworks began. As you can see, there are several spotlights that point at the top of the Tokyo Dining restaurant which hinder the photos of the area.
However, if you position the camera just right, you can avoid the glare made by the spotlights.
Once the fireworks begin, the view is great… if only I could get that one light turned off that is messing up this photo!
What is your favorite location in EPCOT for viewing the fireworks?
