These are great resorts for those who are on a budget, have small children or spend most of their day in the parks.

The Art of Animation is all about Disney animation. The resort is divided into four sections – Finding Nemo (opening date May 31, 2012), Cars (June 18), The Lion King (August 10), and The Little Mermaid (September 15). All rooms are family suites except for those located in The Little Mermaid, which has standard value resort rooms. The suites can accommodate up to six guests and include two separate bathrooms, master bedroom and three sleeping areas. There are 1,120 suites and 864 standard rooms. In-room amenities include mini-fridge, Wi-Fi, alarm clock (because you don’t want to be late getting to the park), in-room safe, iron & board, table & chairs, cable TV, and phone with voicemail.

There are three pools with Finding Nemo being the largest and featuring a pool bar. The two additional pools are located in Cars and The Little Mermaid. In addition to pools there is also Pixel Play Arcade, jogging trail, movies under the stars and playgrounds.

Animation Hall is the main building with check-in, concierge, Ink and Paint Shop, and Landscape of Flavors food court. Landscape of Flavors offers five food shops and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can enjoy pizza, burgers, and other traditional food court items as well as unique and healthy options. Try one of the tandoor oven dishes or create-your-own stations for salads, pasta, burgers and yogurt parfaits.

Due to the location of the Art of Animation only bus transportation is available to the theme parks, water parks and Downtown Disney. For those with their own car, parking is free. Just ask for a parking permit and which lot is closest to your building when checking in. Art of Animation is located across Hourglass Lake from Pop Century so you can easily walk from one resort to the other.
