Best Food Scenes In Disney Movies

Disney has some great food scenes in movies. The most famous being the spaghetti scene in Lady and The Tramp, which is the inspiration for Tony’s Town Square in the Magic Kingdom. However, I’m going to go with a few scenes that are my favorite and not as popular.

One that stands out in my mind comes from Disney/Pixar’s Ratatouille. I know you are thinking that the entire movie is about food and how can I possibly pick just one scene. It was difficult but there is one that stands out in my mind because of the emotion portrayed in the scene and the change it makes in the character. If you haven’t guessed it by now, it’s the scene where Remy makes ratatouille for Anton Ego, the food critic and he tastes it. The scene changes the character to being a kinder, happier person by reminding him of his childhood. This is something that most people can relate to. There is a dish, a favorite food, something you find comforting because it was served to you as a child when you had a bad day or you were sick. The change that occurs to the character in the scene is what makes it great.

The end of Princess and the Frog. Tiana’s dream comes true, she gets to own her own restaurant like she’s always wanted. In the beginning of this movie you see Tiana working hard to make her dream come true which is finally realized when she mets Prince Naveen and they open the restaurant up together at the end of the movie. It’s a great scene to see all of the people dining in “Tiana’s Place” and even Louis the alligator has a place in the band.

Another favorite of mine is in Beauty and The Beast. I’m sure you are thinking that it’s the scene with all of the dinnerware dancing and Lumiere singing “Be Our Guest”, but that’s not it. My favoite scene is when Beast is trying to eat out of a bowl with a spoon and is having a hard time because of his big paws. Belle feels sorry for him and decides to pick up her bowl and drink it… and Beast follows. This is one of the scenes that shows Belle starting to see the good in Beast.

These are just a few of my favorites. There are more great Disney movies scenes like in Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs or Alice in Wonderland. So what are some of your favorite food scenes in movies? Any that people might not think of?
