Magic Kingdom’s Pirates of the Caribbean – Pirate Bootie

Disney fans unite when we discuss the Pirates of the Caribbean ride or the Pirates of the Caribbean movies!  We love the fun and excitement offered by both experiences.

In the Magic Kingdom, one of my favorite rides is the Pirates of the Caribbean.  I remember riding it as a child with my parents and thinking the ride had gotten “stuck” because there was a pile up of boats at the exit.  I remember sitting by the jail scene for what seemed an eternity as it played the Yo, Ho song over and over.  As time has progressed, I ride that ride and think back on being a kid and riding for my first time.

Following my most recent ride at the Pirates of the Caribbean, my sister pointed out a Disney secret found in the Pirate’s Bazaar (the shop you enter as you exit the Pirates of the Caribbean ride).  She stated that she had been told of these items added to the Bazaar during her College Program Traditions class.  As you may remember, in the Pirates of the Caribbean: the Curse of the Black Pearl, Aztec gold medallions play an important role to mold the story of Barbossa and his crew who are cursed to live forever as the undead.  One of coins is reportedly displayed in the Magic Kingdom’s Pirate’s Bazaar from the movie.  Here is the location of the medallion inside the Bazaar:

If you did not easily catch that location, it is along the wall on the right as you are headed to the registers.  Look for the skull and crossbones to help you find the medallion.

Also hidden inside the Bazaar is the Key to the Dead Man’s Chest!  This key played a huge role in the movie Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest.  Here is a line from the movie discussing this particular key:

This is located along the left wall of the Pirate’s Bazaar.  This one took me a while to find when I tried the next day so look hard and you will find it!

Do you know of any hidden treasures that are out in the Disney theme parks?  I love this sort of detail.  Please share yours here!

P.S.  Don’t you just love the title of this post.  Makes me laugh:)
